Urinary Tract Infection Testing
Urinary Tract Infection Testing
American Molecular Laboratories has perfected life-cycle of UTI testing. Due to how serious UTI’s can become, we understand that it is critical to get samples processed and reported in a timely manner. All urine samples received before 2pm (CST) will be tested the same day. All UTI Panel PCR-positive samples will require additional steps of culture and antimicrobial sensitivity test if culture positive, which takes an additional 36-48 hours. All UTI sample results will be reported within 72 hours from receiving, guaranteed!
Technology Used
The real-time PCR identifies 21 bacteria and a group of four fungi in human urine specimens. After a Positive PCR test, urine culture is performed. The cultured bacterial isolate(s) will be further tested by the Antimicrobial Susceptibility Test (9 antibiotics tested for G- bacteria, and 23 antibiotics tested for G+ bacteria) with use an FDA cleared device.
